Canadian landscape and backcountry locations are at the heart of Jan’s artistic work. She found her voice in the rhythms of the land, water and sky while on backcountry trips into the raw, wild places of Ontario. It took years of development to turn those first “seen” rhythms into a language on canvas. This undulating style and her use of expressive colour tells the story of the winds, water and light of the scene she’s witnessed.
