Kyle Sorensen was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario in 1991. He received his BFA from York University in 2014 - studying painting with mentors Janet Jones and Radoslaw Kudlinski. Kyle continues to live and work in Ontario, Canada.
Most known for his bold use of geometric abstraction, Kyle represents both urban and rural spaces through simplified geometric forms and overtly dramatized colours. The end result leaves the viewer in a purely pictorial reality based solely on the relationship between shape and colour. Kyle’s work has evident hints to that of traditional Canadian landscape painting's albeit with a contemporary cubist approach.
Kyle’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and venues in Canada since his first solo exhibition in 2013.
