Painting allows me to express the wonder I feel about this little world around us. I want to capture the seemingly insignificant things we see on our daily travels and present them to you for your enjoyment. I like to think of my paintings as snapshots or chronicles of simple things. In a way, I imagine that I am the historian of my own book of experiences. For example, the painting I might have done of an old derelict shack is no longer there, but my painting still exists and defies the passage of time. Like social media, once it is out there it takes on infinite presence.

The subject matter I paint is often chosen for its intrinsic beauty, even if you might not initially think of it in those terms. I am inspired by light, colour and contrast. Those are the elements by which I determine what is worthy of painting, and which will best serve to hopefully entice you to look at my painting with pleasure and consideration.

My art techniques are a melange of painting processes of the masters and some very valuable new processes by contemporary artists as well. Each painting is begun in a different manner, and so the outcome remains different also. Although my paintings are very diverse in style and application, my art is recognizable in its colour sense and energy.
