Liz Schamehorn’s practice consists of a variety of media and genres: plein air oil landscape, studio acrylic and mixed media abstract, portrait and figure based work, and outdoor installations.

Her Canadian landscapes follow two paths: plein air painting, largely of the Black River area; and more abstract imagination-based work done in studio.

Liz was born and raised in Toronto, and has lived in the Orillia - Washago area since 1969, being very active in several aspects of the art scene there.

She is an honours graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design, which included an Advanced Visual Studies Certificate, Florence.
