Serena West lives in beautiful cottage country a few hours north of Toronto, Canada. Much of the inspiration for her paintings stems from the beauty surrounding her home in Muskoka, which is world-renowned for its windswept pines, pristine lakes, and abundent forests. After studying at the Dundas Valley School of Art in conjuction with McMaster University, she began her career as a mural artist. Her artist journey has led her to a love of capturing stunning and rugged Canadian landscapes on canvas.

Acrylics are her medium of choice since their dynamics prompt quick and bold brushstrokes and allow her to create a sense of movement within her work. By using a palette of both soft and bold colours, she strives to capture the feelings of each landscape. In her words, "My ultimate goal is to evoke the spirit of each place I paint so that you can welcome the wild and natural beauty of the outdoors into your home."
