John Visser is an award-winning Canadian artist working full-time from his studio in Toronto, Ontario. A graduate of the Illustration program at Sheridan College, he spent many years as a freelance illustrator and in the graphic design and printing industry before returning to his first love of painting in 2008.

John’s work is inspired by the serene beauty of Canadian landscapes, from rural fields and forests to wild untamed places. His paintings explore the interplay of light, shadow, and natural forms, capturing the calm, meditative qualities of the land while revealing the extraordinary in everyday scenes. Through layered brushwork and a nuanced palette, John aims to evoke a sense of serenity and wonder, encouraging viewers to see the landscape and the world around them with fresh eyes and a unique perspective.
